With the SEC and ACC having unprecedented success in both the polls and RPI, there is a realistic possibility that the two leagues could scarf up more than their fair share of regional hosts this season. To grab those extra hosts, that means some teams deep in the standings will have to get the nod. But how deep? And what kinds of conference records have earned hosts in the past?

VanderbiltCommodores90X90This year (RPI) #9 Vanderbilt is currently 15-12 in the SEC and probably seventh in the conference hosting pecking order behind #1 Florida (18-8), #4 Texas A&M (18-9), #8 Mississippi State (18-9), #7 South Carolina (17-9), #6 Ole Miss (17-10), and #10 LSU (17-10). The Commodores have a favorable draw the final weekend as they host #130 Auburn (22-30/8-19). An 18-12 finish would put them in pretty good shape heading into the SEC Tournament but what if they drop a game and end up 17-13? That would mean Hoover would take on extra significance for them.
