OMAHA — Florida was supposed to carry the torch for the Southeastern Conference.
Just a few weeks ago entering the NCAA postseason, the SEC looked to be in prime shape to have a mini-SEC tournament in Omaha. All seven teams that made the postseason field were regional hosts, with four of them – the Gators, Texas A&M, Mississippi State and LSU – all national seeds.
