Facing elimination and likely needing to make a deep run through the loser’s bracket to keep its at-large hopes alive, third-seeded Iowa beat Purdue 5-4 to open Friday’s games at the 2022 Big Ten Tournament. The game was a back-and-forth affair until Hawkeyes fifth-year senior Izaya Fullard provided arguably the biggest hit of his impressive career, an RBI single in the top of the ninth inning that proved to produce the winning run in a 5-4 victory for Iowa.
