COLLEGE STATION, Texas — There’s just something about the State of Texas that brings out the best in California Baseball. For this program, once on the brink, it’s apparently the place where heroes are made.
We all remember California’s valiant run through the 2011 NCAA postseason. The program was essentially put on the chopping block, and the Golden Bears responded by winning the Houston Regional in incredible fashion, thanks in part to former player Devon Rodriguez, and won a super regional hosted in Santa Clara to advance to the College World Series for the first time since 1992.
