Ebert: WVU’s Watters, Notre Dame’s Big Arms Standout In Minneapolis

MINNEAPOLIS — The games intensified as Day 1 wore on in Minneapolis as West Virginia squeezed out a thriller, 5-4, over host Minnesota during the third game at the Cambria College Classic at U.S. Bank Stadium. The Mountaineers were down by two runs at two different parts of the game and responded with two, two-run innings. They finally pulled ahead in the top of the ninth as pinch hitter Kevin Dowdell delivered what turned out to be the game-winning hit.
