OMAHA — While teams battle it out at the College World Series, there are other happenings around the world of college baseball, such as down at LSU, where it’s dealing with a defection from heralded lefthanded pitcher Jake Latz. Latz becomes the third pitcher from LSU’s 2014 recruiting class — the others being Jake Godfrey before last season, and of course, Mac Marshall, who left before fall workouts two years ago to head to the junior college ranks.
