ALCORN, Miss. — I decided to get my HBCU on today, making the wicked-scenic drive down the Natchez Trace to Alcorn State’s campus to see the SWAC West rivals face off in game three of their weekend series. My thinking going in was that the Braves and Tigers were two of the better HBCU teams in the country, even though the Tigers had won the first two games of the weekend.
