Michigan, Creighton Look Golden

Analysis

SANTA CLARA, Calif. — Friday was Day One of the Jack Gifford Memorial Tournament being held at Schott Stadium next to the Santa Clara campus. It’s always an intriguing field of teams for this off-the-radar tournament, but this year includes Michigan, who is one of the favorites in the Big 10, Creighton, a perennial 30-plus game winner and post-season player and up-and-coming St. Louis and homestanding Santa Clara.

So here is how things shook out on Day One.
