Midwest Connection: Balanced Iowa Squad Looking To Hit Stride

From the very first day of the 2023 season you could tell this was a different Iowa baseball team. Last year’s squad was very pitching heavy, led by staff ace and eventual Big Ten Pitcher of the Year Adam Mazur. Dylan Nedved and Ben Beutel secured the back-end of games and they were among the nation’s best when it came to team ERA. The season came to a close, however, at the Big Ten Tournament when they simply ran out of arms to turn to.
