Midwest Connection: Maryland Surging After Iowa Series Win

The preseason favorite in the Big Ten, Maryland got off to a bit of a slow start this season, albeit against some tough nonconference opponents in the first few weekends. 

The Terps lost two-of-three against defending champion Ole Miss in late February, and then proceeded to go 0-3 in the Cambria College Classic the following weekend against the Rebels again, Vanderbilt and Hawaii. 

Since that rough stretch, however, Maryland has won 13 of its last 16, including a series win against Iowa last weekend, knocking the Hawkeyes out of the top 25.
