Ritch Price’s head coaching career at Kansas lasted 20 years, ending with the 2022 season in which he hung up his spikes as KU’s all-time winningest coach. The Jayhawks enjoyed a winning record during that time and made three appearances in the NCAA Tournament (2006, 2009 and 2014).

When it was announced long-time DBU assistant Dan Fitzgerald got the Kansas head coaching job, after spending the 2022 season as LSU’s recruiting coordinator, it felt like a near-perfect fit.
