Projections Primer: Making The Case

The postseason picture is always changing, and with our latest projections coming Wednesday afternoon, it’s a great time to take an inside look at how last week’s national seeds fared, while also dissecting each team’s situation and looking at which direction they’re trending.

In addition to analysis on each top eight national seed, we also take an in-depth look at teams trending the right or wrong direction from an at-large bid standpoint.

Let’s get you primed for the latest projections:

Record/RPI: 36-10, 1

RPI Metrics: SOS 4, NCSOS 60 — 13-4 vs. Top 25, 20-7 vs. Top 50, 27-10 vs. Top 100

Trending: Same

Overview: The Gators did nothing over the last week that would knock them out of the top national seed. Sure, Stanford continues to take care of business, but how about this comparison? UF has a whopping 13 wins over RPI Top 25 teams. By comparison, Stanford has one and just three games total against those teams. The Gators have stellar marks everywhere else on their resume, too, and have yet to lose a weekend series.
