Prospect Breakdown: Florida RotationAnalysis
GAINESVILLE, Fla. — It’s no secret that the strength of the Florida baseball team thus far has been the weekend rotation. But just how special is this group of three righthanders that toe the rubber for the Gators every week? They enter the third weekend of the season with a combined sub 1.70 ERA while holding an average start of more than 6 innings – despite an uncharacteristically mediocre start out of ace Alex Faedo on opening night in which he surrendered four earned runs over 4.2 innings. More impressively, teams are hitting a combined .152 off the trio while striking out 1.3 times per inning. Opposing teams fears this amount of raw talent, and that fear will only continue to grow as these three develop into a rotation that offers much more reliability and consistency.
Here’s a breakdown of Faedo, Brady Singer and Jackson Kowar after watching them carve up Miami this weekend in Gainesville.
