Buzzworthy: Robert Tyler’s Electric Day
It’s just one start, but Georgia couldn’t have asked for more out of junior righthander Robert Tyler in a series-opening 4-1 win over in-state foe Georgia Southern.
Tyler’s intrigue on the national stage and to scouts is well documented. He’s a strapping 6-foot-4, 226-pounder, and he immediately jumped on the scene as a freshman for the Bulldogs by tallying a 2.68 ERA in 80.2 innings of work, along with 64 strikeouts and 22 walks. Even then, Tyler had an electric arm with a mid-90s fastball and changeup, but his stuff needed to be fine-tuned moving forward, like any freshman.
