Texas Tech’s Moseley Shows Promise

HOUSTON — Texas Tech junior righthander Ryan Moseley didn’t put together a perfect performance in a close win over Houston on Friday, but showed clear glimpses of why he’s one of the top prospects for the 2016 draft, and why he has the ability to be one of the Big 12’s starting pitchers.

Texas Tech logoMoseley began the 2016 campaign last week with a so-so start against Wisconsin-Milwaukee, striking out four, walking three and allowing two runs (one earned) on five hits in five innings of work.

He looked even better against the highly-ranked Cougars at Minute Maid Park. The impressive-looking 6-foot-3, 190-pounder, didn’t get off to a sterling start, allowing a run in the first inning on a double from Houston hard-hitting freshman Joe Davis. However, Moseley calmed his nerves and had a quality start, showing premium stuff at times.
