Sorenson: Vanderhook’s Angst Of The West
After today’s high-pressure, high-intensity Cal State Fullerton-UC Irvine game, winning head coach Rick Vanderhook didn’t want to talk much about his team’s 6-4 victory. Instead, he just wanted to talk about the state of things in college baseball. When I asked him about how much emphasis he put on winning this game, he steered the conversation toward a more big-picture subject.
“We put zero emphasis on winning this game really,” Hook said. “Because I guess we need to change how we schedule. We need to start scheduling Mississippi Valley State in the non-conference.”
