Push and Drag for the Win

I have often wondered what happened to the bunt for a hit as an offensive weapon. The Fullerton teams of the early 2000s used it liberally, and those teams went to Omaha six times in that decade. The historically fun 2014 Ragin’ Cajun offense also featured this play in their repertoire. Yet the drag and push bunts were starting to feel like endangered species. Well, as the great Frank Costanza would say, “we are back baby!”
