OMAHA — After some back-and-forth early action, TCU shutdown reliever Trey Teakell came on and dominated the LSU lineup for 4.1 hitless innings, allowing the Horned Frogs to pull away and win 8-4 Thursday night at TD Ameritrade Park.

TCU’s Dane Steinhagen had three hits and three RBIs while Evan Skoug was 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs to help end the Tigers’ season at 54-12. The Horned Frogs (51-14) advance to the “semifinals” to face Vanderbilt. TCU has to win two games back-to-back to advance to the championship series against either Florida or Virginia.
