Thursday ACC Notebook: Miami, Duke advance to semis; UNC dominates
At The BallparkCHARLOTTE, N.C. — Miami and Duke clinched spots Thursday in the ACC tournament semifinals, as the Hurricanes pulled off a thrilling 8-7 upset of second-seeded Clemson in the early game, and the Blue Devils cruised to an 8-1 win against NC State in the nightcap. The Blue Devils and Hurricanes will face off Saturday at 5 p.m. In Thursday’s middle game, North Carolina clobbered Pittsburgh 12-2 in a contest that had no bearing on the tournament, as the Tar Heels will face Wake Forest on Friday night for the right to advance.
