NASHVILLE, Tenn. — On paper, No. 7 Oklahoma State had the clear advantage on the mound in its opening day matchup against No. 3 Vanderbilt. The Cowboys were sending first-team preseason All-American Justin Campbell (7-2, 2.57 with a 102-27 K-BB mark in 84 innings last year) to toe the rubber against Vanderbilt’s Chris McElvain, who had made one career start in two seasons and posted a 4.34 ERA last year.
