Wake Forest passes stiff first CWS test against Stanford

OMAHA — Wake Forest has been good at flipping scripts throughout this magical season, and that trend continued Saturday afternoon in a tight 3-2 win over Stanford.

For much of the afternoon, the vibe, and the way the game was going didn’t seem to have a Wake Forest feel to it.

As the Demon Deacons entered the College World Series, there was at least some uncertainty with how this team would handle the big stage. Sure, the Deacs have been downright terrifying the entire season, and they were especially ridiculous last weekend in the Super Regional against Alabama.
