So, when the Tigers didn’t play their best brand of baseball in a series-opening win over Louisiana-Lafayette on Saturday, LSU coach Paul Mainieri entered the press conference room not particularly overjoyed with the situation at hand.
Sure, the Tigers had a 1-0 lead in the series, but the offense wasn’t clicking on all cylinders, and with that, LSU would seemingly have to play exceptional defense and pitch very well to finish off a series win over the Ragin’ Cajuns.
