Florida’s Sproat continues to add key elements to repertoire

COLLEGE STATION, Texas — Florida righthanded pitcher Brandon Sproat is far from a finished product, but his evolution into a premier pitcher was very much on display in Friday night’s gutsy 6-5 win over Texas A&M.

A year ago, Sproat tallied a 3.41 ERA in 89.2 innings of work, while also striking out 82 and walking 33 batters. Teams hit .254 against him and he finished the season getting drafted in the third round by the New York Mets.
