Indiana Gets A Fresh Start

One of the most striking images of last year’s college baseball season came after Stanford’s 5-4 walkoff win over Indiana to take the Bloomington Regional. Indiana’s all-everything catcher, Kyle Schwarber, stared at the spot where Tommy Edman’s home run landed, looking shocked, heartbroken and dazed, as if he’d been hit in the face with a fire extinguisher. Schwarber then crouched on the field and put his head in his hands as the Cardinal players celebrated behind him.
