K-State’s Hughes proposes RPI changes as schedule intent becomes useful tool
StoriesARLINGTON, Texas — I would be filthy rich if I had a dollar for every time a coach has criticized the use of the RPI as a postseason metric over the last 20 years.
If I’m being perfectly honest, most coaches I’ve talked to aren’t sure what they’d do to change the RPI, or what they would implement in place of the RPI. Some talk about ISR, others about ELO, but at the end of the day, someone somewhere will find some sort of biases with those metrics, too.
