Friedrichs Steals Tate’s Headliner Act
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. — Long Beach State might have to ward off the NCAA soon. Redshirt senior starting pitcher Kyle Friedrichs made himself some money by committing grand larceny.
That’s because he stole the show in front of 20 or so scouts Friday afternoon in the Big West opener at Caesar Uyesaka Stadium. Friedrichs threw a complete game two-hit shutout, striking out 13 batters and not walking a single one to lead the Dirtbags to a 2-0 victory on the road against UC Santa Barbara and top prospect Dillon Tate.
