Things that jumped off the page to me in college baseball.
– Coastal Carolina is awkwardly trying to get used to that target on its back.
As you saw, CCU is ranked pretty high in the preseason polls. Was it because of the Chants being the defending national champions, more than anything else? Possibly so. But also due to the fact there is a ton of pitching returning to the rotation and bullpen. But I think opening weekend showed that they may have a bigger hill to climb after losing consecutive games to Western Carolina, James Madison and St. John’s.
