Stanford’s Alberto Rios had taken off for third base on the ball in the dirt. Josiah Cromwick fired a strike that was at the bag in plenty of time, but Rios slid in hard with his foot going directly into the glove of Oregon’s Ceballos. The ball popped free putting the winning run 90 feet away in the bottom of the ninth inning.
