Savacool, Another Grand Slam Lead Maryland Over Ole Miss

OXFORD, Miss. — If Maryland’s 2-2 start to the season was a feeling out period full of false starts and some mild adversity, Friday’s 9-2 win on the road against Ole Miss was a full realization of the Terrapins’ potential. 

The good news actually started before the game, when both Matt Shaw and Matt Woods were in the starting lineup after Shaw had missed last Tuesday’s game against West Virginia due to illness and Woods had been hampered by a back injury. 

Things only got better once the game started, however, especially when righthander Jason Savacool was on the mound.
