Texas A&M, Matt Kent Flip The Script
COLLEGE STATION, Texas — Matt Kent put himself in the Texas A&M history books with one of the gutsiest performances in program history to help his team advance to the NCAA super regional round with a thrilling 3-1 win over California.
Just this past Friday in the College Station Regional opener, the Aggies gave Kent the starting nod over usual front-line ace pitcher Grayson Long against Texas Southern. In that game, Kent seemed to set the tone for the weekend, striking out five, walking just two and allowing no runs and just five hits in seven innings.
