COLLEGE STATION, Texas — You know it’s your night when your Friday night starter, against a top-five team, didn’t have his best stuff, and he still managed to strike out seven batters and allowed just one run in five innings of work.

Though it was far from as majestic as his performance last weekend against Georgia, where he tallied a career-high nine strikeouts, Texas A&M sophomore righthanded pitcher Nathan Dettmer once again showed flashes of greatness, while reliever Jacob Palisch shined in a 2-1 win over Arkansas.
