ColumnsIRVINE, Calif. — When Jacob King got Long Beach State’s Chris Jimenez to swing over a slider to end the ball game, stranding the tying run at second base, the UC Irvine closer gave a fist pump on the Anteater Ballpark mound. The Black & Blue Rivalry game had a postseason feel even with the limited fans in attendance and the final pitch coming more than eight hours after the players arrived at the field Saturday morning.
