ColumnsBLACKSBURG, Va. — The weekend’s premier series will fittingly come down to the final game, to be settled in a Sunday rubber match. No. 5 Virginia Tech evened the series Saturday afternoon, holding off a ninth-inning rally attempt by No. 7 Louisville to take a 4-3 win.
“If you like watching a college baseball game that’s nip and tuck, that was it right there,” Virginia Tech head coach John Szefc said. “A good game between two good teams.”
