Count Pittsburgh’s Mike Bell among the hundreds of college baseball coaches who are confident their teams are much better now than they were a year ago, in light of the shortened draft and roster cap relief. The Pitt program already seemed headed in the right direction in Bell’s second year at the helm, jumping out to a 10-1 start before bullpen problems started to flare up, playing a part in a five-game losing streak to end the shortened campaign.
