NORMAN, Okla. — The 2022 Oklahoma baseball season was a tough act to follow. As Sooners coach Skip Johnson says now, looking back: “Nobody gave us a chance. Hell, they picked us sixth [in the Big 12].” But the Sooners made those preseason prognostications look silly, going 15-9 in the Big 12 (tied for second place), and then going on the road to win a regional in Gainesville and a super regional in Blacksburg, then cruising past Texas A&M (twice) and Notre Dame to reach the CWS Finals.
