Fall ReportWest Virginia walked away from Selection Monday earlier this year disappointed, if not shocked to be left out of the NCAA tournament.
The Mountaineers ended the regular season with their best ever finish in Big 12 play at 14-10 earning them an RPI of 40 heading into the Big 12 Tournament. But they were ultimately doomed by a “two-and-Q” showing at the conference tournament. It helped negate finishing two games out of first place in the Big 12 standings where it was tied with Texas, who was selected as a regional host.
