Fall ReportCARY, N.C. — After Robert Woodard’s arrival as head coach in 2019, Charlotte quickly established itself as a program on the rise. The 49ers won 36 or more games in each of Woodard’s first three completed seasons at the helm, making regionals in two of those seasons after winning the Conference USA regular-season title in 2021 and the C-USA tournament championship in 2023. Last year, Charlotte backslid to 24-34 overall and 12-15 in the American Athletic Conference, a disappointing debut in the league after the success the Niners had enjoyed in CUSA.
