Fall ReportSam Houston showed signs of being a team playing its best baseball at the right time last season. It won eight of its final 10 WAC games to finish the regular season 21-9 in conference play, topping the Southwest Division.
But then baseball showed why it can be a cruel game. After accumulating all that momentum, the Bearkats lost back-to-back games by a combined three runs to New Mexico State and Sacramento State to begin the WAC Tournament, and just like that, the season was over.
