Sorenson: Crazy Day In The OzarksFeatured
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — I was all ready to start my recap of what I saw with Missouri State’s big win over Dallas Baptist which I saw at Hammons Field in Springfield. But then, as I drove to Fayetteville to catch the end of the LSU-Arkansas game, a funny thing happened on the way to the expected Hog rout…
So instead of just starting with the DBU-MSU game, here is what took place today… I did indeed begin the day by driving up to Springfield to see the second game of the Dallas Baptist-Missouri State series, in which the Bears won 11-8 to clinch the series win.
Then, I drove two hours back to Fayetteville where I had seen Arkansas beat LSU 9-3 on Friday night. Since I was going to miss so much of the game while on the road, my intent was just to catch the last few innings of the Tigers-Razorbacks contest and include a pic or two along with a blurb about the game. Holy crap, did I ever get more than I anticipated.
During the drive I was listening to the Razorback radio network’s play-by-play of the game. It was deja vu all over again with the Hogs up big and looking to clinch the series win. When I pulled into the parking lot at Baum Stadium, Arkansas held an 8-3 lead in the eighth inning and Razorback fans were walking all around the parking lot looking for their cars because this second game was another laugher and they were streaming for the exits.
