He was one of a number of kids standing behind Waterbury Municipal Stadium’s left field fence because they couldn’t get a seat. As Penders tells it, the streets were clogged with people blocking traffic. No one knew where to park. Eventually, the police made the decision to just open the gates to everyone to pack into the stadium in an attempt to clear the streets.
