Austin Peay’s McClure Resigns After Arrest

Gary McClure, the winningest coach in the history of the Ohio Valley Conference, resigned Saturday as Austin Peay State’s head coach following his arrest Friday night for patronizing prostitution. Derrick Dunbar, who has served on McClure’s staff since 2010, was elevated to interim head coach.

“This is a sad situation for all involved,” APSU president Alisa White said in a release. “It conflicts with the core values of our university and does not represent the values of our outstanding faculty and staff; therefore, we have accepted Mr. McClure’s resignation.
