Cape Cod, MA – The Cape Cod Baseball League (CCBL) and D1Baseball announced a streaming rights agreement for the 2023 CCBL season today. All 220 CCBL regular season games and CCBL postseason games will be available to watch for free on d1baseball.com
This partnership between the premier collegiate summer baseball league and the premier media outlet for college baseball coverage will increase national visibility of the college summer baseball scene.
“The Cape Cod League is synonymous with summer collegiate baseball, and we feel like we’re synonymous with college baseball. We couldn’t be more thrilled to partner with such a prestigious summer league to bring more collegiate baseball fans closer to the action,” D1Baseball.com co-owner and managing editor Kendall Rogers said. “Through this partnership, fans will be able to go D1Baseball and have instant, free access to every Cape Cod League baseball game. We feel like this is just the beginning of something that will only continue to grow.”
Streaming of CCBL games began in 2003 when the Chatham Anglers became the first team to broadcast their games online. The CCBL has become the home for the best college broadcasters to spend their summers. Three of the past five winners of the Jim Nantz Award, recognizing the most outstanding college broadcaster in the country, have been former CCBL broadcasters: Carlo Jimenez, Scotty Gange, and Drew Carter.
“We’re excited to partner with D1Baseball and increase the exposure of Cape League games to a larger, national audience this summer, at no cost to fans,” said Andrew Lang, President of the Cape Cod Baseball League.
Games will be available beginning on June 10th, as the CCBL opens their 2023 season with a full five-game slate. One notable game on Opening Day will be the Brewster Whitecaps hosting the Bourne Braves, a rematch of the 2021 and 2022 CCBL Championship Series.
