Another week is in the books, and it’s time to unveil the latest D1Baseball Field of 64 Projections for the NCAA tournament with some changes.

There aren’t any seismic changes in the top five. Texas A&M, Arkansas and Clemson continue to top the national seeds, while Tennessee did jump two spots this week to No. 4, ahead of Kentucky, which it took two of three from on the road last weekend. North Carolina is another holdover from last week, while East Carolina and Wake Forest entered as top eight seeds this week. ECU continues to dominate its league, has a 32-8 overall record, and most importantly, has an RPI of 8 to go with the nation’s No. 10 strength of schedule. Meanwhile, Wake is more of a projection pick after taking two of three from Florida State at home last weekend. The Demon Deacons are trending upward and have an RPI of 11 to go with 10 wins vs. Quad 1 teams, which is tied for the second most behind Kentucky.

Florida State remains high up the totem pole in the No. 9 spot, while Oregon State, which was swept on the road by California last weekend, is down to 13 in the RPI with just five wins vs. Quad 1 and Quad 2 teams combined.

Three teams dropped out of the Top 16 mix this week: Virginia, Oklahoma State and West Virginia. The Cavaliers dropped a series to Georgia Tech and have seen their RPI creep down just a little, while Oklahoma State is down to 25 in the RPI after losing a series to Kansas State. Finally, West Virginia plunged to 34 in the RPI after getting swept on the road by Texas Tech. The new entrants include Oklahoma, Coastal Carolina and Arizona. Oklahoma is leading the Big 12 by a whopping three games and is up to 18 in the RPI, Coastal took a series from Louisiana last week and is up to 15 in the RPI and Arizona is a league pick now. Arizona has a hold on the Pac-12 regular season title race for now, and though its RPI is 29, we expect that ranking to improve in the coming days and weeks.

The Southeastern Conference leads all leagues with 10 teams in the latest projections, while the ACC is close eight nine and the Big 12 has seven teams in the field. The Pac-12 has five, the Sun Belt four and the Big Ten, Big West, Coastal Athletic and Conference USA each have two teams in the field.

Our projections are assembled each week by the trio of Mark Etheridge, Kendall Rogers, and Aaron Fitt. Together, the trio has more than 60 years of experience covering college baseball and putting together regional projections.

LAST FOUR IN: Georgia Tech, Illinois, Texas, Louisiana Tech
FIRST FOUR OUT: Xavier, TCU, Creighton, Ole Miss
