Knoxville: Vols overpower Hoosiers to take control of regional; USM stays alive

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Connor Foley was firing fastballs at 97 and 98 mph one way … and Tennessee hitters were blasting his pitches 105 and 107 the other.

Foley, Indiana’s 6-5, 235-pound righthander, gave up two well-spanked homers and took the loss on Saturday night as the host and top-ranked Volunteers defeated the third-seeded Indiana Hoosiers, 12-6 to take control of the Knoxville Regional.

Tennessee (52-11) is one win away from hosting a super regional next weekend.
