Mississippi State Rides “Dude Effect” To Stirring Win Over Irish

STARKVILLE, Miss. — Most teams enter the season with one big, over-arching goal of making it to Omaha. It’s plastered on the walls in the locker room and the clubhouse. Team huddles get broken down to a synchronous chorus of “Omaha.” 

There may be other smaller, more achievable goals along the path and there’s still more to play for after getting to Omaha, but making it to the College World Series is what everyone in college baseball talks and dreams of.
