The postseason picture is always changing, and with our latest projections coming Wednesday afternoon, it’s a great time to take an inside look at how last week’s national seeds fared, while also dissecting each team’s situation and looking at which direction they’re trending.

In addition to analysis on each national seed, we also take an in-depth look at teams trending the right or wrong direction from an at-large bid standpoint.

Oregon State

Record/RPI: 34-4 (18-3 PAC-12), 1

RPI Metrics: 60 SOS, 147 NSOS, 8-0 vs. Top 25, 10-0 vs. Top 50, 23-3 vs. Top 100

Trending: Same


There are just two teams that continue to be locks for national seeds – the Beavers and North Carolina. OSU picked up a home series win over USC this past weekend and continues to impress in the metric department. In addition to having a commanding lead in the Pac-12 title race, the Beavers still haven’t lost a game to an RPI Top 50 club. That’s the definition of dominant. OSU finishes conference play with Washington State and California at home and rival Oregon on the road. In other words, that national seed is locked up, folks.
