Reflections From A Game 7 Double Dip: Pirates, Heels Party On

GREENVILLE AND CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Not so long ago, when April turned to May, it looked very unlikely there would be any postseason baseball in the Carolinas in 2022. North Carolina was in dire straits at 8-13 in the ACC, and East Carolina was muddling through a season that looked destined for the at-large bubble with a 24-18 overall record and an RPI outside the top 50.

But Monday, there were decisive Game Sevens of regionals in Greenville and Chapel Hill. And this weekend, there will be super regional baseball at Clark-Leclair and Boshamer.
