Remarkable comeback fulfilled for walk-off winning Ducks

Prior to Friday night’s contest between host Oregon and visiting Oral Roberts, 96 other teams in the history of super regional play had been down by eight runs and all 96 of those teams had lost. Emerging from improbability were the Ducks, who slowly but surely chipped away at ORU’s lead before Drew Cowley delivered the walk-off, game-winning hit, emphatically giving Oregon the 9-8 win.

The win snapped Oral Roberts’ 21-game win streak and pushed Oregon’s own streak to 10 games, which includes a 4-0 showing at the Pac-12 Tournament and their 3-0 run through the Nashville Regional.
