Hattiesburg: Southern Miss One Game Away from Omaha

HATTIESBURG, Miss – The fifth inning ended 19 hours after it began, and the game post-resumption started much differently than before it was halted. Southern Miss hung on to beat Tennessee 5-3 to take game one of the Hattiesburg Super Regional.

Played in front of 5820, the second largest crowd in Pete Taylor Park history, the fans squeezed together, mostly in black and gold but with patches of orange quilted in, and saw the Sun Belt member flex on the SEC behemoth throughout the first few innings.
