PALO ALTO, Calif. — Talk about clutch.
The No. 1-seeded Stanford Cardinal came into the day having lost on Saturday night to Texas State 5-2 and needing to pull off two wins against top 20 teams in order to keep their hopes of making it to Omaha alive.
And sure enough, they got their two wins, one over UC Santa Barbara and the other over Texas State, both by identical 8-4 scores too. How’s that for a nice, neat little package?
